When he does not return, Tess follows him and finds a subterranean tunnel attached to the hidden corridor, where she finds Keith injured. While they argue about where to go, the pair are attacked by a naked, deformed woman known as Mother who kills Keith by violently bashing his skull against a wall.

Likely Frank didn't have much time left, but AJ's discovery of his lair led him to make the decision to end his life. AJ saw the tapes and threatened to call the cops. While AJ berated him and called him sick, Frank likely didn't kill himself from guilt but fear that his secret would finally be revealed.

The neighborhood is run down, the house isn't great looking, but it's only for one night. The lock box is open, the key isn't there... and someone is in the house. The door is opened by Keith (Bill Skarsgård) who also booked the house for that night.

AJ, a man who has himself been accused of rape, watches one of the many videotapes Frank has recorded of himself raping and, presumably, murdering several women over the years. AJ is utterly horrified by the tape; however, Barbarian director Zach Cregger does not show viewers the contents of the video.

Tess uncovers a bare room, featuring only a bed, a bucket, and a camera on a tripod. If this wasn't bad enough, there's another secret door within, that leads to a network of subterranean tunnels, built by the previous occupant of the house. Keith, it turns out, really was a nice guy.
