Watermelon Punch with Bowl
Don't have a punch bowl, no problem!
Who has room to store one of those?? Not us; our cupboards are full.
This recipe takes care of that since you use the watermelon rind as your bowl! Brilliant! Prepare for your guests to be impressed.
How to Make - Step By Step
You'll be the only one who knows that it's super easy to pullthis Watermelon Punch together.
Step 1 - Prep Your Watermelon
Wash your watermelon.
Then, scooping out the flesh of the watermelon takes no time at all, and kids think it's fun to help! So get them involved!
Cut the top of the watermelon off about ⅙ of the way down. Cut the bottom end enough to make sure the watermelon will stand on its own. Scoop out the watermelon flesh.
Step 2 - Blend Your Ingredients
Place watermelon flesh in an electric blender; process until smooth. Strain through a fine-mesh strainer; discard solids.
After you blend the watermelon flesh in the blender, it tends to get a little foamy, but don't worry; most of the foam gets trapped when you strain it.
Now, return the watermelon to the blender. Add lemonade concentrate and pineapple juice and blend well. You can add simple syrup if you prefer a sweeter punch.
Tip: traditional simple syrup is made from one part water to one part sugar (1:1). White granulated sugar is usually used. To make, combine sugar and water in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, stirring, until the sugar is dissolved. Allow to cool fully before using it.
Transfer mixture to the watermelon serving bowl.
Tips & Tricks
- It's important to wash the whole watermelon before you use it, so you wash the germs away.
- This punch is best consumed the day you make it.
- Make sure you stir your watermelon punch before serving to make sure all ingredients are blended.
Watermelon Punch with Alcohol
You could certainly make this an adult-only beverage by adding alcohol. Follow the recipe, but add 3 cups of vodka or however much you prefer to serve it with.
That should do the trick!
Tip: if using alcohol, make sure you label the punch as such, so kids know it's not for them.
Other alcohol options include:
- Watermelon Vodka
- Rum
