To whom should credit be given for that all-too-accurate phrase, ‘no good deed goes unpunished’? One need look nofurther than our bedroom to comprehend its accuracy. To wit, my wonderful wife who cared for me during my darkest hours with the plague has now succumbed to its wretched claws. Nowshe suffers the coughs, the chills, and all manner of inhumane indignities brought on by the horrid influenza. Tissues (with aloe) shall become her solace as she extricates the worst of dregs, nasally, from her being.

On a sunnier note, asof this eveningI have shaken the devil from me. No chills, no fever, no sweating, and no more tissues!!It is no less a miracle than Jesus with Lazarus. I am reborn!

So, yes dear readers, we remain in quarantine for a couple more days.We are now a month behind my initial schedule. Fortunately, schedules matter naught to us!

This photo waspublished on Facebook by the Museum of Moab and shows Alice and Mac McKinney’s CJ-3A at Arches National Monument in 1963 (it didn’t become a National Park until 1971). I haven’t been to the Museum of Moab (didn’t know it existed — we’ll have to give it a try next time we are through there).

Seth spotted this on eBay, but not until after it sold. It’s the first one I’ve seen.

Transmission and transfer case are good no leaks. Gas tank is in back. Radio, 12volt, front clip rolls forward to work on, high back seats, role bar. Tires are good. Has solex carb on will included regular carb.”

“Selling a 1955 Willy’s wagon 4×4. Runs and drives very good. 4×4 works as it should. Body is in really good shape for age. No rust on body. Has some patches. Floor pans have been patched. All seats are there. Rear seat needs foam but has new covers. Motor is a F head 4cyl that is out of a 1953 wagon. Still on 6volt system. All lights work. Heater motor blows air but the temp adjustment needs some tinkering. Has original vacuum wiper motor that does not work. Oil pressure gauge works and battery gauge. Working on temp and fuel gauges. Speedo works and is pretty accurate. Manual choke. Tires are like brand new and brakes have been all gone through. New rear shocks and steering stabilizer. Has new gas tank and new wiring. Has a couple small drips but nothing major. Love it but needs to go for next project. All glass is good also. Call or text with any questions. Can text more pictures if needed. I also have a couple totes of extras including dash gauges speedo. Other misc parts. Steering stem and generator. Also have side extensions for rear bumper and an extra passenger front seat. Will sell extra parts separate also. ”

It has something I have not seen before a factory installed PTO on rear and it works.”

(04/24/2014) Looks like this is a VEC body. Has an f-head.

Doesn’t drive, but engine starts.

Seller listed this as a 1943, but looks like a 1946 to me. The front frame rails and bumper look good. A PTO winch is in the rear. It’s pretty complete, but still a project.

“I got this overdrive in an m38 willys that I bought and don’t know the history of it. It does turn and spin and all parts move. It is a Warn, the data tag says it is a 33-29, but the gear has a 26 on it. It came off of a 18 transfer with a t-90 transmission in a willys m38.”

I thought this might be a Porter & Reed, but as Bill points out it isn’t aluminum. Now I think it could be a Koenig Jiffy Cab (which came in aluminum or steel).
